Travel By Folding A Map

I'm Jesika...I'm pursuing a Painting/Drawing BFA at the moment. This was my study abroad travel blog turned everyday blog. I post photos from my life, my work, and ones I find or reblog which will probably revolve around:
•Cupcakes, baking, cake decorating, recipes
•Travel photos
•Daily "Place I Want to go" (which will go on for 365 days)
•Animals, pets, marine biology (especially jellyfish and cephalopods)

My disastrous second painting. First and current stages. My obstructions for this painting are: 1. same obstructions as first (nothing but underwater, only from observation/no imagination or 2d sources) 2. Painting by candle light 3. No colouring the water 4. Use a distorted mirror

I’ve never had this much trouble with a painting…I’ve never had to paint a subject that I know what it should look like, but look at it through such a distortion and then paint that? so difficult. My crit is Thursday…I have no clue how to improve it/what else to do. Hoping to have a revelation in the next 4 days.
